HELP! My website has gone funny since I uploaded IE8 - 30 Jan 2009

If your website suddenly looks very different in Internet Explorer 8- don't panic! IE8 is very different from its predecessor, and a lot of pages will look strange, especially if they relied on "quirks" in IE7 to work properly. The good news, though, is that IE8 now works very like many other browsers, like Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome, so pages that work in one should display consistently in another.

If your website "breaks" in IE8, then it might have relied on IE7 "quirks" to work properly, and there are fixes. I've already checked my own clients' websites when the pre-release version came out, under their maintenance agreements, so I've already applied the fix several times.
